John Pringle was born on October 15, 1976 in Charleston S.C as the youngest boy answering to four older sisters. As the son of a Broker and Actress, John’s influences stemmed from both the linear and artistic minds of his supportive, loving parents.

After attending the University of Georgia and being inspired by a plethora of various music trends in Athens, John taught himself the guitar and continued to practice the craft of singing and songwriting. He later moved to Manhattan and worked on Wall Street in the day. After much persuasion from friends, John began playing open mics throughout the city.

He later traveled to London for his trading job, but also hit the open mics attaining a nice size following of local pub dwellers that familiarized themselves with the rich tone of his voice and evocative lyrical genius. After several pints, his British fan were soon proudly belting out song requests for their new American buddy.

As of recent, John has returned to the town he grew up in to continue pursuing his career in music. He is now playing gigs in Atlanta and has acquired a tight following of local and devoted listeners. He will be traveling in September to play at Austin City Limits Musical Festival. In a time of contrived boys bands and during the reign of American Idol, John Pringle’s music expresses a certain duality many young people experience while entering adulthood.

He reveals an inner struggle with the human condition as he stares down truth in the face and openly sings about his often-defeated outcome. Many fans have compared John’s music to that of Bob Dylan as he offers a reminder to his audience that there is indeed a simplistic beauty behind the solo man and his guitar. Read more on Last.fm.
