The band's founder Dan Rohde had acquired roughly 15 original song ideas growing up in Springfield, Illinois, and finally pursued a band to play his material with. After two under par drummers, Dan's search brought him to drummer Jason Holme's doorstep. After just one jam, Dan knew he had found a drummer that could keep up with him and provide a back bone for the band. The next and most difficult challenge was finding a bassist. After trying 5 bassists that didn't work, Dan started talking to an old high school friend that he had been in many bands with him, since their younger days. He was the perfect fit for this three-piece. Since the line-up's inception they have been taking Springfield and Chicago by storm with their Progressive/Fusion rock. With Dan's avant-garde/jazz/60s-esque guitar playing, Jason's over the top metal drumming background, and Casey's funk/Primus oriented bass progressions, Dog Of Panic is a band that focuses on musicianship and technicality, but with catchy hooks that even the most non-musically inclined person could enjoy watching their set. When asked about Dog Of Panic's type of music, Dan has often responded that he likes to take genres and mash them together to make original songs that focus on not sounding the same from one track to the next.
