Minimal States is an electronic music project by Thom Carter, started in 2009.

The music is heavily influenced by ambient and generative music, as well as having elements of faster electronica and IDM.

The debut album 'City of Buffalo' was released by the Digital Kunstrasen (Germany) and Clinical Archives (Russia) netlabels, and 'Like A Photograph' and 'Liberty Hoax' on the Test Tube label.
