SEVEN LEFT was spawned in 2001 by the demise, or rather, rebirth of two of the hottest local bands to ever hit the MS gulf coast. Level with the Ground and Stereo Crisis. Level With The Ground had truly achieved local musical greatness with the sale of 5,000 copies of their debut CD release 'Super Fiends' but as many will agree the band needed some thing more to truly take them to the next level. Enter the group that was taking the scene by storm, Stereo Crisis.
Stereo Crisis, a new local band, had come out of nowhere like a punch in the face on the local music scene wowing audiences with a new cutting edge sound like nothing else around, mostly attributed to the wholly distinctive vocal sound of singer Joseph Lines, and hammered home by the riff-gritty guitar style of Durwood these two were truly a duo to watch. In 2000 the two bands began doing shows together, with Stereo Crisis in an opening slot for Level. This was certainly a show to see, two awesome bands both packed with some of the best musical talent on the Coast. It didn't take long for Joseph, Joe, Clay, Heath, and Durwood to realize that that something they needed to move forward was right under their noses each other. This realization set the stage for one of the most talked about band reformations in coast history, the new Level With The Ground.

LWTG let their long time vocalist go to recruit Joseph and Durwood, and begin writing new material. Taking a little time off starting in October 2001, the new band began a vigorous rehearsal schedule to write new material, for their New Year's Eve coming out at Thunder's Tavern. In just a 3-month period the band wrote an entire album's worth of material that seriously over-shadowed anything that any of them had done before. This new super group of sorts was ready to kick ass and take names. After a hugely successful New Year's Eve show in which the band totally won over a crowd of old and new fans alike, the band again took up their normal routine of doing shows, along with a trip to Holly House recording studio to lay tracks for a new CD.

Everything to do with the band was new and fresh, except for one thing, the name. The band's philosophy at first was what's in a name, we let our music do the talking and people were truly listening, to the barrage of great new songs like 'shape of me' and 'now you kry' But, this new album's worth of songs was taking on a life of its own, attracting acclaim and attention. So, the band decided to break free of their old seemingly grounded name and with the newly chosen name SEVEN LEFT take them to a new level. And to wide acceptance SEVEN LEFT has become the band to watch in 2002 and beyond. Read more on Last.fm.
