Barren Path is an international grindcore/death metal band (primarily based in Japan/United States), formed in 2025 as a direct spiritual successor to the legendary grindcore act Gridlink. It features almost the entire lineup from Gridlink's 2022-2023 revival, minus vocalist Jon Chang.

The band delivers hyper-aggressive, melodic, and dissonant grindcore with a heavier death metal influence—beefier production, crushing riffs, and precise blasts that build on Gridlink's legacy while pushing toward a more metallic brutality.
