Immersed in the artistic world since birth, Toronto native ‘’Party Animal’’ Jeremy Reid, aka Tapwatr, made his musical entrance at 13 years old as a guitarist in various Metal bands. In his early-twenties, at the end of the 1990’s, he discovered his passion for electronic music.
In 1999 he founded Blacklight Activists (BLA) and started to organize parties. BLA was responsible for the introduction of the progressive/Psy/Tech-trance sound in Toronto. They represented artists such as Midi Miliz, Son Kite, Reefer Decree, Wizzy Noise and Logic Bomb. It’s in 2001 that his Dj career, under the alias of Yeb, was born and he quickly shifted to producing behind the name of Axiomata. He then performed in many events and electronic music festivals throughout Canada and Europe, among the like of Tshikara, Full moon and Indian spirit in Germany, and clubs like Batofar in France and Rector in Belgium.
He founded the Tech-trance label Cold Groove Records in 2003. Their first release was a Nuclear Ramjet 12’’. Producers such as Midi Miliz/Spirallianz, Tetraktys, La Baaz, Metalogic, FM Radio Gods and Luna spice also were released on this label.
At the end of 2007 he moved to Montreal and along with FM Radio Gods launched a new label called Attitude Recordings. Attitude does not focus on a specific style but rather on quality of sound and production. Whether it is with dance floor stompers or trippy melodic excursions, musical variety is great, but the core ideal remains the same, production of original and inspiring music.
He joins the Noerg collective in 2009. Today Jeremy aka Tapwatr, is working as a sound engineer for music, TV and web medias, but also concentrates on producing, djing and managing Attitude Recordings. His style varies from Techno to Progressive with a dark and hypnotic twist.
