Dustin Marroquin, P.K.A. Dusto, The Architect is an American artist,
record producer, songwriter and engineer from Bakersfield, California, who has worked out of Los Angeles for nearly 10 years. As praised by his colleague Excel Beats, “If you could roll a technical genius, lyrical mastermind and the true spirit of an artist into one being, it would give you The Architect.”
While planning the promotion and release of his upcoming singles "Turn me up”, and "If I could" he is preparing for the launch of his website and collaborating in the studio to finish his album Rock Amongst Pebbles. Dusto is also writing, producing, and engineering for multiple artists and bands.
Dusto got his start performing rap songs in his church at age 12. He performed at spelling bees, speeches, oral interpretations and poetry in middle and high school, while also being a member of the school’s marching band and orchestra. Living on his own since he was 17 years old, The Architect found an identity and voice in music. After moving to Davis, California and performing as “Adapt,” he began recording, producing, and teaching himself to engineer audio. He continued to create, perform and progress in the San Francisco bay area hip-hop scene. Moving back to Southern California reconnected Dusto with his roots where he re-discovered his exceptional skill in the technical aspects of the entertainment business.
Dubbed “The Architect” by a peer, Dusto began to live up to his name. Although he is best known for his technical knowledge and production, his charisma, original lyrics and innovative delivery clearly distinguish his style.
Throughout his career, the Architect has been blessed with the opportunity to be involved with quite a few notable productions and activities. Performing in hundreds of shows at venues across California, he has opened for acts including but not limited to, Warren G., Tech 9, Abstract Rude, Radioactive of Spearhead, Excel Beats, and Top-Floor. His music has been featured on the radio, at a Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball game, on the web, and in various artists’ projects. He has appeared on Cypress Hill’s Web Channel, in various music videos, and is featured in background footage of Ice T’s documentary “The Art Of Rap.”
The Architect has also performed in LAUSD’s “School Tour,” and because he enjoys giving back to younger generations, he has assisted in mentoring programs in the Los Angeles area, educating children about the art of music and the recording process.
His single “If I could” is an effort to inspire in people of all ages the confidence to overcome the adversities they are faced with in life.
Not only a very talented musician but also a technical genius. Dusto is gifted. He's not only an artist, he has the rare ability to control every aspect of a recording project. He shines in the mechanics of recording while at the same time bringing an unique ability to create and perform musically. Then he'll spit a verse. Read more on Last.fm.
