Although their music is rooted in the classic sounds of rock and rolls past, cincinnati, Ohio. The greenhornes have developed an ironic sound all their own. Forming in 1996, band members Craig Fox, Patrick Keeler, and Jack Laurence have released numerous singles, for albums and an EP demonstrating a wide range of music ability. Like their predecessors The Kinks, The Byrds, and The Yardbirds, The greenhornes songs range from classic psychedelic sounds and soulful melodies to timeless rock anthems.

The band's collaboration with Holly Golightly, "There Is an End", was the theme song of Jim Jarmusch's 2005 film, Broken Flowers.
