FIMM is comprised of four ladies joined together by their interest in popular music, mostly Irish and Scottish traditional music, and in the Celtic tradition.

Though the band was formed in 2004, the musicians have played traditional music for many years, with different Irish and Italian bands. They played around Italy and Ireland to widen their knowledge of Irish and Celtic music. The band's repertoire extends from Ireland to Scotland, from Brittany to Italy, including traditional dances such as Irish jigs, reels and polkas, some Italian gighe, tarantellas and songs, and bourrées from Brittany.

In less than four years since the band was formed, FIMM played some of the most important folk festivals in Italy and abroad, including: Trentino Giro Folk, Paleariza festival-the biggest folk festival in south Italy, Irlanda in festa in Florence, Ferrara Buskers festival,
FIMU festival in France, Belfort…

The band performed throughout all of Italy invited through municipalities, cultural associations and musical clubs, travelling from the North to the South of the country. In 2007 went to Ireland for a short tour in County Galway and Connemara.

Their first EP, ”Rose in the Heather” received wonderful reviews. This led to theband recording a full-length album with fifteen tracks, including traditional tunes from Ireland, Scotland and France, re-arranged by the band, plus four new original tracks. The cd was released in August 2008 and is already on its second edition. ROOIBOS AND DISAPPUNTI received positive reviews in the magazine, FOLKER (jan-feb 2009), the german Folk Magazine.

Some of the album's tracks were chosen chosen for the new compilation Best of Irish & Celtic Music Podcast and the band was several shows of the award-winning Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.
