A thrash metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. They are also considered a technical thrash metal band. The band was formed in 2010 by lead vocalist & guitarist Erik Lundberg and drummer Leon Johansson Blank (drums). In 2011, Daniel Österberg (guitar, backing vocals) joined the band and then Richard Swärd (bass) joined in 2012 to complete the lineup. A year after 2012, they released their debut EP One Inch Monster. A few years went by and no more releases by Sonic Assault happened. In 2016, founding member and drummer Leon Johansson Blank left. He was replaced by Erik Lindstrand.

After six years of no releases, Sonic Assault released a single entitled Intellectual Singularity in 2019. That was followed by 4 more singles released between 2021 and 2022. Then they released their first full-length album entitled Neon-Lit Metropolis in 2022. The band currently consists of Erik Lundberg (vocals, guitar), Daniel Österberg (guitar, backing vocals), Richard Swärd (bass) and Erik Lindstrand (drums). Early on, Sonic Assault wrote lyrics about gore and thrashing. As time went by, they wrote lyrics about science fiction and cyberpunk. They are not signed to any record label.
