Дeva (Deva) is a Hungarian fully DIY solo project by the 20-year-old Budapest based musician Dorina Takács. Music has always played a major role in her life but she felt it’s time to take matters in her own hands and do everything on her own. She writes and produces her own tracks, and also sings. Her atmospheric smooth sounds, pulsating basslines and polyphonic mantras are seasoned with Hungarian lyrics. Her solo project aims to knock down barriers between different genres of music and make our spirits soar. Although in some cultures ‘deva’ represented the colour white, this word was also used for evil throughout history. Today, Дeva’s intention is to unite light and dark, balancing out the yin with the yang. While the Д denotes the initial of her first name, Eva represents the first woman on Earth.
