Nabeel Shuiel (نبيل شعيل) is a Kuwaiti singer and record producer. Shuiel was born on 31 December 1961 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. He began his artistic journey in 1982 when he released his first single, Sekat Safar after performing it on a nightly Arab TV show. The song is about the happenings of a long train journey. After signing a record deal with Kuwaiti record label Dan Doon, he released his first studio album, with “Sekat Safar” being the title song. In 1988, he signed a record deal with Al-Nazaer, Kuwait’s largest record label and continued his career as a recording artist. His first hits included “Ya Shams,” “Ana Mansak,” “Sadini,” and “Layeg.” Many of these songs gave an excellent demonstration of Shuiel’s ability to change his voice while he sings. His unique voice characteristics gave him the nickname of “The Gulf Nightingale.” In 1998, he released “Ma Arwa’ak,” the song that was to become the most famous work in his career. It incorporated a light pop melody with uplifting lyrics. Thanks to its popularity, earned a spot on Rotana’s “Tarab of the 90’s” album. He also owns his own studios, Tarban Records Studio and Tarban Studio. Tarban Studio opened on January 18, 2009 in Al Jabriya, Shuail is the only Kuwaiti singer who has performed in other Arabic dialects, as well as the only Khaleeji artist to perform outside his home country.
