The Machinist Initiative is the solo project of Jason Porter, based out of Athens, Ohio.

Previous work includes the now defunct band "The Underground" which he concentrated on primarily during his highschool years.

What started as experimentation in digital recording soon evolved into a full-time project, used as a means of writing and creating new styles of music. The first song to result from this experimentation was "Freak Show", a synth-heavy anthem about LGBT lives in a generally straight agenda. The narrator of the song calls for a union of the under-dog in an event called the freak show.

This inspired the album that followed, "Enter the Freak Show", a dark electronic EP that sticks to the theme of a corrupt America and the people that live within it.
