...The Ardent Awaited Land Lyrics

Far away beyond the horizon,
above the shadows of the horses' hoofs,
a maiden behind a golden shield
in a chariot rides across the sky.

Two ravens are above us,
a long forgotten tale,
how it is to reach the utter hail
and the eyes of a Valkyrjur caress your heart...

When a lightning strikes with pride
and a thunder roars upon us,
when the trees will be beckoned by their dew
again
the icecold mist shows us our way...

Then be sure, oh thy heathenhearts,
our time will soon be there,
when the one-eyed God walks amidst us
and the neighing will be deep inside of our
hearts...

One day we will tear the hearts
of the ones who stay against us,
the nine worlds are in our hands
since we've found the key of Valgrind.

No wolf will ever subdur us,
oh Freya hear my words,
forever I'll be in your retinue
and await to sense your breath...

Once you will open your eyes
while a maiden is kneeing at your side,
and she will kiss you to awake
for you will stride the mighty rainbowbridge...

Two ravens are above you,
they will show you the final way
across the river and over the mountain,
into the ardent awaited land...

Falkenbach is a one-man German Viking metal project created by Vratyas Vakyas (literally, "The Searching Wanderer"). Vratyas Vakyas lived in Iceland for a considerable time, but now lives in Düsseldorf, Germany again. Throughout the band's lifetime, Falkenbach has progressed from a rawer, more "black" sound towards viking-influenced folk metal with mainly clean vocals. Vakyas' music is nowdays accompanied by session musicians.

1989:
Vratyas Vakyas recorded the 1st tape called "Havamal". The tape contains 3 tracks and was limited to 9 copies.

1991:
Vratyas started to play guitar in a band called "Crimson Gates". Two demos (unreleased) were recorded between 1991 and 1993 and two live performances took place. The band decided to split up in 1994.

1995:
The tape "Laeknishendr" was recorded and mixed, containing 6 old re-recorded tracks. In 1995 the recording session of Falkenbach's debut album "The Fireblade" began, due to heavy problems with the studio equipment Vratyas decided to stop the session a short while before the mix. "Heralding - The Fireblade" was later in 2005 completely recorded and released. In December 1995 Vratyas entered the Blue House Studio to start recording "...En Their Medh Riki Fara...".

1996:
In March 1996 Vratyas recorded an completed the debut album. "...En Their Medh Riki Fara..." was released via NCR.

1998:
Vratyas recorded the 2nd album "Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri..." at the Blue House again, this time released through Napalm Records.

2003:
After almost 6 years of silence Vratyas entered the TidalWave Studios in two sessions for the 3rd album "Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty...". The album contained 7 tracks and was released on November 3rd, 2003.

2004:
The 15 years anniversary of Falkenbach.

2005:
"Heralding - The Fireblade" meant to be released in 2004, finally available on 25th November 2005. This album took some old songs and remade them.
