Jazz Clarinet player John Carter and trumpet/cornet player Bobby Bradford played and recorded together between 1965 and Carter's death in 1991. The group Carter and Bradford formed in 1965 was called the [it]New Art Jazz Ensemble[/it], although most of the recordings by Carter and Bradford appear either under their names (or Carter's name alone). While typically called free jazz, their music pays close attention to compositional elements, similar to that of Ornette Coleman.
