Roland got involved with music at early age. He was only eight years of age when he first laid his hands on an organ, rapidly followed by various keyboards.

At the age of twelve, Roland starts to discover the magic of producing and therefore saves up to buy an "amiga".

It was only until November 1997 that he released his first record on Black Hole Recordings in cooperation with Superstar Dj Tiësto as the Hammock Brothers.

Despite the fact the track did rather well, Roland didn't want to limit himself to one style. He strives to imprint his own identity and influences to take the music one step further. So he decides to explore the world of musical wonders on his own, as Roland K!

In the year 2000 Roland was offered a publishing contract by Harry Lemon (Lemon8), a very talented bloke from his hometown, who supplied the means to release his own material.

Alongside his solo projects as Roland K, Apron & Remark, Roland broadens his horizon and discovers two guys who are equally tuned: Misja Helsloot and Dj San.

The year 2001 sees the liftoff of two brand new projects:



2 Men strong (a cooperation with Misja Helsloot). A blend of progressive and trance with the most beautiful breaks you're likely to hear.

SanProject (a cooperation with Dj San). A unique blend of futuristic funk and dark progressive vibes, which has proven to be of great success already.


His discography and the numerous remixes Roland has done, especially under his SanProject guise in cooperation with Dj San, already is proof of his inventive and individualistic sound he has been busy creating.

Also, as a dream came true, he started a recordcompany together with Misja Helsloot and Maarten van Oosten called Gesture Music.
They started the company because they wanted to release their own material and help young/new talent to evolve in fine artists.

Two separate labels where founded.
First Second Records is done by Misja and Remark Records will be done by Roland himself. The first Remark release sees the light on the 28th of October 2002 and will be called 'Elixir'/'Kisses'.
Also in the U.K. , 'Choo Choo Records' released 'So Pure' by 'Remark', one of Roland's artistnames. This track was licensed to the Satoshi Tommiie CD 'Nu Breed 6'.

Now after several years of silence, he returns with an original artists album called "You where saying....?". It will be a blend of different styles with his renown quality sound accustomed to himself.
