Kevin Johansen was born in Alaska, son of Argentine mother and American father, he has lived in many cities throughout his life and his music reflects the urban spirit of many of these cities. In New York he founded a band named "The Nada" and recorded his first record, also called “The Nada” (wich was later released in Argentina and in Spain).
In general his albums explore various rhythms and elements of the Americas, from cumbias to milongas, and Cuban sounds, all handled with a sort of pop sound, he usually mixes styles and languages and because he cannot be defined into one specific style, he often likes to define himself as “de-genreate”(or lack of specific genre).
