From the time he penned his first verse (at the age of seventeen while still in high school), he strived for an original identity. As a novice, he knew he wasn’t ill- nah, he knew he sucked… but he was willing to put in the work necessary to be thought of as a true lyrical threat. During the mid to late 90’s, he heard cats like Nas, Wutang Clan, Jay-Z, Jeru, Smif & Wessun, Scarface, Outkast, Ras Kass, and Black Thought control hip hop with their versatile abilities. The new millennium brought with it an influx of new artists with new styles. Hosannah saw the need to remain strong in self, and yet be malleable enough to change with the times. Life is about growth- if someone talks about the same things at 38 that they did at 21, they probably didn’t grow… Though he loves the music, Hosannah believes in balance.
