Awelia is Amelia Wellers, a singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York. As a lifelong singer and piano player, Amelia graduated from Tufts University as a music major and started her career in arts administration. Inspired by the musicians and artists she met during those years, she taught herself guitar and began writing songs in notebooks that travelled with her across cities and apartments.

In August 2019, a breakup and a new job landed her back in her parent’s guest bedroom and sorely missing her music. By the spring of 2020, she recorded and arranged a few demos from her notebooks and moved to Brooklyn a week before the COVID-19 pandemic started. During quarantine and while working full-time, Awelia set up a basic home recording studio and collaborated with Brooklyn-based producer Kyle Joseph to release her first professionally recorded original songs.

Awelia's EP, Wishtide, is releasing November 20, 2020. Wishtide alludes to the pull of a dream, the undertow of society’s expectations, and the ebbs and flows of a relationship over time.
