Having been described as "Worse than Leonard Cohen", "A voice you'd roll over in bed for" and "A baby Nick Cave", Black Hay’s music fits comfortably under the description ‘Romantic Music for Perverts’, covering as many of the songs do, a sense of both lust, physicality, as well as outsider perspective.

Black Hay is the name of the project helmed by Gideon K who writes the songs, sings the songs, and plays most of the instruments on the recordings. As a live incarnation Black Hay has taken the form of solo acoustic shows - a direct way of presenting the songs, via an uninhibited, stage-bantering, impromptu song-covering presence.
