“The Planet Pluto” is a three piece band out of Long Beach CA. They play Alternative/post punk Rock. The group consist of: Blair(Brandon) Hill on guitar/main vocals, Rocky Kratt on bass/backing Vocals, and Keith White on drums/percussions. The trio’s lyrical content is heavily influenced by psychological ideas, dark satire, the “rules” of society, while their music is melodic and generally upbeat; influenced by such bands as, Muse, The Killers, and Interpol.
“The Planet Pluto” has been a band for about a year (since October 2009), but have been great friends for years before that. They met in high school and we’re initially dissimilar in every way, and background except for their love of art. The three eventually became friends when they discovered their mutual artistic ambition. Blair was an amateur classical composer, while Keith was becoming popular by his own right, on artist communities such as Deviantart and Newgrounds. Rocky, probably the most talented at the time, followed a different path in that of the medical field, and let his art become more of a pastime. However He and Blair were actively pursuing music in their band “Save Point”. This led to years of creative rivalry, until Rocky and Blair’s previous band found themselves without a drummer. In a desperate attempt to not let the musical magic slip through their fingers, they enlisted Keith to play the part. When Michel Kratt, Rocky’s Brother and lead guitarist to “Save Point” decided to quit the band to follow other ambitions, “The Planet Pluto” was born. Deciding to scrap all their songs and their previous band name, the band started from scratch, birthing a completely new sound. When picking the name for their band, they sought something with a good ring to it as well as a personal meaning to each member. Realizing that time changes all things, and that control is mostly an illusion, the band chose “The Planet Pluto” as a metaphor that truth is subjective. Thus the trek to conquer the rock world had started. They are now playing shows frequently at local venues while recording their very awesome demo in the garage.
