Only on Weekends writes alternative rock anthems that will have you singing along by the time your first listen is over. The three-piece from Philadelphia, PA displays this ability proudly on their latest release, Light Years and Heavy Lifting, a five song EP produced and engineered by Fred Mascherino (Terrible Things, The Color Fred, Taking Back Sunday).
In the summer of 2011, Only on Weekends released their self-titled debut album and began playing shows all over Philadelphia and New Jersey. One year later, they released Dig In, a four song EP “filled with little gems” according to Hellhound Music, and won South Jersey Magazine’s Top Talent contest. Shortly after, Only on Weekends began booking their own tours, playing shows in Virginia, South Carolina, Indiana, Ohio and New York. While not on tour, they continued to play locally, sharing the stage with bands including Such Gold, Harrison Hudson and Rookie of the Year, and in 2013, after a chance meeting with Mascherino, they entered his studio to record their 2014 release.
Only on Weekends is a hard-working band that loves what they do, and it shows on stage. They were recently named the top band of 2013 by Chords for Cures, a non-profit charity concert series, who described Only on Weekends as “an AMAZING band that’s a blast to watch”. Their catchy songs, high energy and one-of-a-kind light show make Only on Weekends a band that you will not forget. Read more on Last.fm.
