Black Candle was formed in 1994 by Simon(Dark Lord Tenebrus later changed his name to Simon),Azael and Thummiel, and was Luxembourgs first Blackmetal band. At that time we had no drummer and we were not the best musicans at that time. The rehearsals were horrible noise explosions. The first fragments for our first song „My Black Sky“ were formed. Thummiel left the band to form his own band Sargatanas. Some weeks later Simon and Azael meet a guy called Claude(Amaymon late changed his name to Shadow) and he told them that he was a drummer.
Soon he joined Black Candle and the Line up was complete. Black Candle restarted to rehearse and after a short time 2 or 3 songs were created. In March 1996 our first demo „My Black Sky“ was releaesed. The intros and outros on this demo were made by „Mad Thrashing Daniac“ who 9 years later joined Black Candle as Guitar player. After a couple ot mounths Azael must left the band for lack of musical talent and lack of intrest.
Simon played the guitar and bass and Black Candle continued as a 2 man Band. In 1997 the second demo „Winter of Wrath“ was released. It was the first stuff recorded in a studio. Black Candle…s demo tapes remained cult status in the underground scene an some fans allways pretend that the demos are the best recordings. Shortly after releasing „Winter of Wrath“ Lord Mogon joined Black Candle on Bass guitar. Read more on Last.fm.
