1) A.W.O.L. were hardcore/punk band from New Windsor, New York active around 1988-1990. They released two demo tapes and a 7" entitled "Vision". Members went on to form All Out War.

2) Absent Without Leave (A.W.o.L.) was founded in 1996 as a short-lived video project which concentrated on producing tiny videoclips set to music by the likes of early 80’s synthpop pioneers like John Foxx, Gary Numan, Fad Gadget or The Twins.

3) A.W.O.L. (aka A Way of Life) was a French hardcore band from Rennes from 1996 to 2000. They came back for one show in october 2013.

4) A.W.O.L. (Absent without leave.) were a 4 member band from Johannesburg, ZA
They played hard hitting Chaos/80s Hardcore Punk and built up quite a following.
They recorded one album named 'another pawn please' and were beginning work on a second album in 2009 when the band came to an end due to Jonathan Way's suicide.
