The Story Lyrics

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
Yeah you do and I was made for you
You see the smile that's on my mouth
Is hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through
like you do
And I was made for you
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you
Oh yeah it's true... I was made for you

This singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tenn. will go down in Voice history as having one of the most raved about blind auditions to date. But long before she hit The Voice stage, Sarah’s been singing and performing.

According to her Facebook page, Sarah’s been traveling and performing since age 13 when she went cross-country with a theater troupe. At age 15 she got her first guitar and started writing songs. And though she was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala., she considers Memphis, Tenn. to be her home after studying at Visible Music College.

Unfortunately, things haven't always been easy for Sarah. Her father was addicted to drugs and absent from much of her life as a kid. But the good news is he's been sober for several years and they're no longer estranged. In fact, he's one of her biggest fans. And now she can use that experience to help pepper her performances with real and raw emotion.
