Gazing Into Space is the solo project of Evan Pontoriero. Born in San Diego, CA and currently living in Kenwood, CA. Recording from the early 2000's, he uses mainly hardware synthesizers, both modular and semi-modular, to create atmospheric ambient, electro, IDM and industrial rhythms, though guitar and bass do play a part. He has a long list of influences going back to punk and post-punk, through industrial and shoegaze while finally settling on IDM favorites. His early career in film and animation contributed to the cinematic style of production he incorporates. He is also a member of several other projects including work with his long-time bandmate Daniel Slavin called The Mystery Signal and the Silbeys as well as other collaborators like Echodrone and Jymptom.
