The Quick Fix Kills influences included Fugazi, Lungfish, Drive Like Jehu, The Jesus Lizard, Unwound, and Jawbox.

The Quick Fix Kills (originally The Quick Fix) had two releases. The first was the Novel Weapons EP, which was recorded by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios, and mastered by Chad Clark at Silver Sonya. It was the first release by the Ernest Jenning Record Company in early 2002. The follow up album "Saint Something" was released in mid 2003 by My Pal God Records. It was recorded with Steve Meyer and Pat Walsh (of Varistor and currently playing under his own name) at ESR studios during the summer of 2003.

The bands' members included Rich Thrush (guitar), Dave O'Connell (guitar) Chris Klein (bass), Luke Boyle (drums) and Mark Moody (vocals). After the recording of the first full length Boyle left the band on good terms to pursue his job full time and was replaced by Aubrey Arago (drums) for their final shows and tour.

During their first east coast tour in '01 TQFK played with against me, disband and kudzu wish. Their second tour in '04 came after the release of their full length. It was a week stint with Taking Back Sunday's friends and family tour, which also included Fall Out Boy and Matchbook Romance. The band parted ways in January of '05. Moody has gone on to join The Choirs of Titan, Aurago has gone on to join Thunder Lizard be Thy Name, and O'Connell and Klein have gone on to form The Off World Colonies. Read more on Last.fm.
