Miki Hirayama 平山三紀 ( born August 22 , 1949 ) is a Japanese singer.
In 1970 , she debuted with " Beautiful Yokohama ," and her nasally, husky voice drew attention. (Composer Kyohei Tsutsumi had originally wanted to put the B-side, "Sayonara no Blues," on the A-side.) The following year, in 1971, her second single, "Manatsu no Jiken," was a huge hit, peaking at number 5 on the Oricon charts . Her follow-up, " Noah's Ark ," also sold 100,000 copies, and she joined the ranks of star singers. In 1972 , her song " Friends " became a hit, and was later covered by many idols .
Most of her early songs were written by the combination of lyricist Jun Hashimoto and composer Kyohei Tsutsumi , and she was said to be "Kyohei Tsutsumi's treasured child".
After that, she continued to release ambitious albums such as " Onigashima " produced by Haruo Chikada in 1981 , " Cabaret Girl " in 1987 , and " Miki Hirayama's Exotica Daimakyo " in collaboration with Sandy & the Sunsetz in 1993. She also gained attention again with the single " Joudan Janai Asa " in 1987 , and released a new song " Perfect Summertime " in 2001 , maintaining her own pace and continuing her musical activities to this day .
In 1977 , she married Hirofumi Bamba , but they divorced in 2005. In 2006 , she released her first new album in a long time, " This is Miki Hirayama ."
