Paws Button was started because of those goddamn furries.

My personal journey into the fandom started out with just a bunch of VR streamers on TikTok Lives, inhabiting their sonas while talking to folks tapping on their screens. One particular streamer, Dingoroo, had instrumental music playing in the background which gave off a chill, casual, and colorful vibe. Once we talked and speculated that the artist in question might be using AI for some of their creations, I knew I had to give it my own spin.

The entirety of Paws Button is what ultimately led to the creation of my OC/sona, a music-loving rabbit named Spence. The original art was done by @Patch-Bandit, and I had a deep emotional connection to him. It's what inspired my journey towards trying out new sample-based techniques in creating music for the streamer, the furry, and the lo-fi kinda person.

EP#01: PROJECT LOBO is very much in tribute to Dingoroo, whom is the creator who got me into the fandom. Aiming to capture the feeling of casual cool so effortlessly captured on his streams, this EP specifically aims to keep the good vibes going with thick basslines, fun drum shuffles, and a wild case of samples. "Ruff Start" was truly the first song made for the entirety of the project, but it set things in motion.

As more and more Paws Button tracks were made, a distinct "voice" is what slowly emerged, and soon songs started falling into two camps: the upbeat tracks and the downbeat ones, which is why the final result is two different EPs released at the same time. Becoming a furry was a wholly unexpected event in my life, but the community has already given me so many friends, memories, and moments. Paws Button, I now realize, is my love letter to the community and those creators who pushed me on my path. So to any long-time fur, first-time fuzzy, and any creature in between: thank you for being you.
