Skeeter Davis and NRBQ first met in 1981. NRBQ, having several hardcore The Davis Sisters (a duo Skeeter has been part of) fans , approached Skeeter and made plans to record an album with the country legend (best known for her 1963 cross-over hit "The End Of The World"). Both Skeeter and NRBQ had busy schedules and it wasn't until 1985 that they had time to meet each other in the recording studio.
