This House Is a Hotel Lyrics

This house is a hotel, I won't stay long
I'd rather be at church
Unless the holy water works, I won't come around anymore

Set fire to your worries
Let fear burn to the ground
When the storms are rolling in and you're filled up to the brim, they won't come around anymore

Baby aint that how the big boys roll
Aint no other man gonna save my soul
Let the rain come down, the flowers will grow
And you won't come around anymore

Stand in the ocean, let light in your heart
The tide is getting low, and the wind's not gonna blow
If you don't come around anymore

Baby aint that how the big boys roll
Aint no other man gonna take my soul
Let the rain come down, the flowers will grow
And you won't come around anymore

It's not at all good but it aint that bad
It's not at all good but it aint that bad

Austin, Texas-based duo The Wind and The Wave are Dwight Baker and Patricia Lynn. (Dwight is “The Wind” and Patty is “The Wave.”) The two met in 2009 when Dwight, a touring musician turned songwriter and producer, who’s worked with such artists as Bob Schneider and Brandi Carlile, was urged by his wife to actually leave his studio (“I’m kind of a hermit,” he says) and go see a friend’s band. Patty’s previous band was opening the show.

The album "From the Wreckage" glows with a rootsy golden tone that encompasses everything from indie-folk, to alt-country, to blues-rock to Southern psychedelia. The raucous first single “With Your Two Hands” sounds like it could have been written during an impromptu back-porch jam session. Read more on Last.fm.
