This Is How It Is Lyrics

lately there's been a change
of how I feel about you
What once seemed so sure
Is slipping through my hands
The love we once felt, it seemed so long ago
If we can't hold on, then we've got to let it go...

Chorus

And this is how it is now
No more looking back
Love has finally left us
And it's gone away
No it wasn't meant to stay

We've walked an endless road
paved with awful lies
We couldn't find the keys to open up your eyes
Togther, forever wasn't meant to be
If we can't hold on, then we've got to let it go

Chorus

We seemed to have it all, but couldn't find the strenght no more
To hold on to the dreams we've shared
If we can't hold on, then we've got to let it go
Will it ever come around
No, I just don't know

And this is how it is now
No more looking back
Love has finally left us
And it's gone away
And it hurts me more each day

Twarres is a folk/pop band from Wergea, the Netherlands who perform songs in both English and their native Frisian Language. Their songs are primarily lush, harmonic vocal pop with a focus on acoustic instrumentation such as pianos and violins.

The band was originally founded in 1998.

Original main band members:
- Johan van der Veen (1981) - vocals
- Mirjam Timmer (1982) - vocals and guitar

In December 2003, Johan left the music business. Mirjam decided to start a career as a solo singer as MIR.

In 2007 Johan and Mirjam wanted to reunite, but Johan got a muscle disease so he wasn't able to perform. He was temporarily replaced by Auke Busman on vocals and guitar).

In 2009 Mirjam found her final new singing partner: Joost Bloemendal with help from radio DJ Ruud de Wild.

In 2011, Joost left and from now on Mirjam will be the only singer of Twarres.
