Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers are best known for performing "This Life" (theme song for FX television series Sons of Anarchy) and covering "John the Revelator" (originally recorded by Blind Willie Johnson) with both tracks included on the Sons of Anarchy: North Country - EP.

In 2009, "This Life" co-writers Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver, Wasted Youth, Electric Love Hogs), producer Bob Thiele Jr., singer-songwriter Curtis Stigers and show creator Kurt Sutter received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for the song but lost out to the theme for PBS television series Great Performances.
