This Town Is Killing Me Lyrics

I pour my heart out
Three minutes at a time on a J-45 and no one's listening
Too busy drinking on the company tab
I scream my lungs out
Confess my secrets, own my sins, but they don't give a damn
Cause if it don't sound like the radio, pass

Nashville you win
You're steel guitars and broken hearts have done me in
I gave you my soul
Cause I wanted it so bad and now I just wanna go home
This town is killing me
This town is killing me

They buried my grandad without me
Cause I was out on the road at some one off show in Tupelo
And I can't take that one back
I was in love once
And I pushed him away and the price I pay is a whole lot of lonely nights
And a whole lot of songs that never see the light

Nashville you win
You're steel guitars and broken hearts have done me in
I gave you my soul
Cause I wanted it so bad and now I just wanna go home
This town is killing me
This town is killing me
Oh, this town is killing me
This town is killing me

Nashville you win
Cause I'll wake up here tomorrow and do it all over again
Even though you're killing me
This town is killing me
This town is killing me

Caitlyn Smith is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She was raised in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

Smith's first independent record, Learning to Be, was released in 2001 when she was just 15 years old. Soon after releasing this record, Smith started working on her sophomore album, Silence; which released in 2003. While both Learning to Be and Silence show off Smith's pop/rock style, her third album, (produced by Matt Patrick and Don Chaffer) reached deeper for a more earthy, organic vibe. The album, Face Over Heels, was released April 2007.

She released Everything To You in 2014. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
