After finishing college in 2020 and being locked down in LA, guitarist Aiden Scott and vocalist Kasey Klar, long time musical partners, decided to start a new project that they could really sink their teeth into. Gathering a team of old friends and new, the band gained Joonas Cohen on bass and Marcus Sanchez on drums, and Mineral King was off to the races. Blending modern influences like Delta Sleep, Pinegrove, and Coheed and Cambria with older groups like Rush and The Police, Mineral King created their own unique brand of progressive indie rock.
While touring, writing, and recording their way through 2024, Mineral King built a whole new EP full of new and big ideas. The lead new single, ‘Threadbare’, showcases their unique ability to create dynamic and dancey songs infused with intense emotionality and clever poetry, and has gained more than 50,000 streams on Spotify and more than 400,000 views on Instagram and Tiktok.
In early 2025, Kasey Klar, the lead singer, moved to Fort Collins, and the band now splits time playing and rehearsing in both Colorado and Southern California.
Their new EP, 'Rotating', coming early 2025, absolutely doubles down on everything that makes the band unique, while bringing a bigger and more refined sound than ever. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
