Shuree is a pop/dance/contemporary christian singer from Chicago, IL, USA.
“I believe that God’s gift to me is my story and music is the vehicle He has given me to tell it.” –Shuree Rivera
Though you could meet her and never know, Shuree’s life story seems like it could only have been written by a blockbuster script writer. Growing up in a very challenging home, she has dealt with bullying, discrimination, divorce, family members with drug addiction, and the loss of her younger sister to a drug overdose at a young age…and that’s the short version of this script. Fortunately, like in every good movie, Shuree finds a happy ending everyday through her ability to share her story and music with fans and the unwavering confidence, balance, and zest for life given to her by God.
Shuree’s goal is to touch the hearts of those she meets, whether at one of the shows that she may be playing throughout the mid-west, in her position as a worship leader at The Compass Church in Chicago, or as guest speaker or artist at Willow Creek or other churches around the country. Her musical performances (including opening up for Jamie Grace, Royal Tailor, Building 429, Moriah Peters, and Anthem Lights) are high energy, progressive, and have the great ability to connect with fans and newcomers alike. With great pop sensibility and the kind of dancing and stage presence that you would expect from a modern pop-star, Shuree sings anthems that espouse that One Girl Can Change The World, Broken Is Beautiful, and that by giving ourselves to The Almighty, we can all have the opportunity to go Dancin’ 2 Eternity.
