Spontaani Vire plays original modern folk music and traditional Finnish music with incredible groove and enthusiastic joy. The music has influences from Balkan music, world music, jazz and progressive rock.Their energetic and spontaneous approach to music has fascinated audiences all over the world. The group´s oustanding style combined with virtuotic playing has brought many prizes and nominations: the band was chosen as ” the Traditional Group of the Year 1996” by the Finnish National Broadcasting company YLE and was announced as ” the Group of the Year 1995” by the international Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. Spontaani Vire won the National Folk Music contest of Jorma Panula in 2000. All four musicians are recognised professionals and have studied at Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki, Finland.The group has recorded two cd:s, and the third one is expected to be released in near future by Aito Records.
