UK-born indie artist Monc has launched his third full-length album “TwentyOneNine Knox St”. This will be the artist’s fifth release on his own fiercely Independent label “CongIndy” (Formerly “Conglomerated Industries”) where the music is made, manufactured and promoted with “no corporate interference.”

Monc was one of the very first artists to launch his music and independent label on-line (www.monc.net) with a vision to connect with his audience directly over the web staying free from ‘Corporate interference’. An interview in THE INDEPENDENT national newspaper excited investors and enabled Monc to raise the $100,000 necessary to launch his first two releases, Guilty and Virtual Reality Spacesuit.
These 5 track EP’s made a huge impact on US college radio in 2001 with Guilty being spun on over 400 college stations and achieving a no. 8 slot in the CMJ charts while Virtual Reality Spacesuit, his first release, was added to over 200 stations. Both releases topped the charts on Europe’s biggest music download site peoplesound.com with 11,000 downloads a-piece in the UK alone.

His first full length release, a Double album entitled “M” received much acclaim: “So ,how would you like to slip into the presence of a sonic genius?” (-G-man/LA Weekly) with two tracks from the album featured in the highly acclaimed psychological thriller “Memento.” The soundtrack album also featured Monc’s song “Stone”, alongside tracks by David Bowie, Bjork, Moby and Radiohead.
His second album “Speak or u will be speaken to” had to be recorded ‘remotely’ with his band after the initial funding for the label dried up. Narrowly avoiding complete financial meltdown Monc was forced to return to the UK. His horn players and singer Donna Taylor, recorded their parts in LA from Monc’s hand written score and mailed them to the UK as data CD’s for him to “Fly in” to the mix. Monc then had to invent a way of representing the music live as a one-man show. Armed only with a guitar a mic and a simple “Looping Device” he managed to build tracks live on stage to huge proportions (the musical equivalent of a high-wire juggling act!). He quickly built a reputation and live following, regularly headlining at The Spitz Club in London and many venues in Bristol and Bath.
