Simon M. Read was born in Plymouth, England in 1980. He played, recorded, produced and promoted his first album Bowland in 2007 and released it independently through CD Baby and his myspace page - www.myspace.com/simonmread

Compared to a wide array of artists (Paul Simon, Donovan, Cat Stevens) his most commonly cited influence are the folk musings of Iron and Wine.
