Growing up on Norway’s west coast, I guess my main influence were wind, rain
and the impression that everyone around me worked hard and steadfast, non-stop.
I was born in January of 1976. My umbilical chord three times around my neck. My parents were 17 and 19 years old at the
time. He, a farmer and mechanic for heavy machinery, she, a home maker. My
father (R.I.P) introduced me to music early on. He was a brilliant organ player and
tried lead me onto the same path. But the organ did not quite catch on, and it was
not until he bought me a sunburst Ibanez bass guitar, that the interest for music
found fertile soil.
Fast forward to 2004. Derringer is formed on the basis of five songs written
and arranged by me. The band, in spite of playing numerous gigs, went no where.
Or perhaps it took me home. The music presented to you through this page is
composed, written and performed by yours truly. I don´t care much for placing my
music in a specific genre, or targeting it towards a certain audience (but naturally, it
falls in to one or more categories). He or she who enjoys it, will listen to it. Or at
least, that’s what I hope.
