Biographies Of Individual Band Members

Tommy Ing
(T-Bone)

Was born and raised in New York City. He has been playing the blues on the bass since he was 17 years old. Tommy’s big influences are Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Magic Sam, Freddie King, John Hammond and many other great artist.

In 1970, Tommy and his good friend Fast Floyd the guitarist, started across country headed for San Francisco, playing along the way. One of his favorite memories is playing in Chicago on the famed Maxwell Street.

Upon arriving in San Francisco, they started a band called Lazy Ace and played the S.F. scene for a number of years. During this time, Tommy had the opportunity to play with Francis Clay, the drummer for many well known blues bands of the 40's and 50's.

From there Tommy migrated north to Santa Rosa. He played many years with other bands such as: The Wild Caucasians, Private Reserve, The Road Hawgs, and The Uncle Mark Band. With Uncle Mark he had the great opportunity to play with Oakland's famous Freddie Roulette.

Migrating north, once again, Tommy is now settled Lakeport, playing bass for Side of Blues. With his rock bottom style, playing his Fender Jazz bass, Tommy and the band will keep you moving and shakin' the night away.


Tom King
(The Tornado)

Harmonica player and vocalist, Tom has been playing professionally since 1979, but Tom was a natural from the age of twelve. During a jam session with some young friends, he picked up the harp and was instantly hooked. Tom’s mother realized his gift and gave him a guitar and a harmonica for Christmas. The guitar took a back seat while he has been driving the sweet sound of the harp all across the country ever since.

As a boy, Tom was fortunate enough to indulge in his two great loves, the harp and his horse. In the quite countryside, Tom would ride his horse while singing and blowing on the harmonica.

Tom’s influences come with an impressive resume: Paul Butterfield, Little Watler, John Mayall, Corky Siegel, William Clark, Paul deLay, Curtis Salgado and one of his favorites, Rod Piazza.

Over the years, Tom has played Blues, Jazz, Country, Rock and Gospel while touring the United States with several bands including The Dave Clark Band, Tommy Waters Band, Swing Shift and Road Fever.

At present, Tom’s charisma, prowess and animated performance adds the exciting edge to the Northern California band Side Of Blues that keeps the fans coming back for more.

Bobby Pfannmuller
(Thumper)

Drummer and vocalist, Bobby was born and raised in New York City. As a young teen, Bobby played the violin for two years. He also, performed with the All Borough Orchestra. At the age of sixteen, Bobby’s parents bought him the drum set he had been coveting. Learning the basics from a friend that lived in the same apartment building, he was never with out his sticks again. Bobby loved and played the rockin’ blues.

Bobby married his childhood sweetheart Dana and in the early 80's he packed up his bride and drum set and headed west to Northern California, away from the grind of the city and the confinements of apartment living. As a drummer, Bobby found this new land; freedom to roll with his love of rhythm.

Bobby has played drums for Solar Xpress, The Groovetones and now Side Of Blues. Bobby’s dedication, drive and pure joy for the music has made Side Of Blues one of the hottest bands in the area.
