Albert Meintjes is a singer-songwriter originally from Pretoria, South Africa now living in Glentana, Western Cape. He is a member of the band Scicoustic and also performed as Algrecko with Greg Georgiades. He started performing in 1996 and he sings songs of love and life, strongly influenced by folk and acoustic music from across the globe. He has a deep love for Southern American music which meets African rhythms in his songs.

Albert has performed with New Porn alongside Arno Carstens, supporting the Metallica tour and on stage with some of the top artists in the country like Albert Frost, Anton La’mour, Karen Zoid, Valiant Swart, Shaun Morgan (Seether), Hugo De Waal, Lani van der Walt, Steve Newman, Guy Collins, Piet Botha and Moseu Kettlele just to name a few.

Albert has a unique voice, brilliant song writing skills and exceptional guitar techniques and has entertained audiences in London, Croatia, Seychelles, Mozambique, Cuba, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Belgium, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Kenya and Namibia.

He released his debut album ''The Very Silence of Waiting In This Place'' in April 2017. The album draws inspiration from the sights he visited in Namibia while touring the country in 2016.
