Forged amongst heartbreaking high school drama in the small town of Minot, North Dakota, three 14-year-old best friends merged their musical talents and dubbed themselves Brakelazy. With a sound like the flavor of a Foo Fighters/Rooney milkshake, they won the hearts of many Minotians and developed a grand following throughout the state.

After rocking North Dakota and Western Minnesota for over 6 years, Brakelazy acquired their high school diplomas and made a straight-line dash to the Twin Cities. Arriving in October 2004 they started playing night after night in hopes of spreading the "Brakelazy Gospel" to all of Minnesota and the world.

Since moving, Brakelazy has played with many acts such as Default, Oleander, Action vs. Action, and Maiden Korea. They are making their rounds and leaving audiences plastered with their infectious melodies and more rock shivers than anyone could know what to do with.

Front man, Dave Carlson, started writing music at a very early age. In fact, he claims he has been writing songs ever since he was a toddler. Sifting through the overflowing file cabinet of melodies he stored in his brain over the years, he arranges powerful and diverse compositions that can break your heart or snap your neck.

Driving Brakelazy's rhythm section are bassist Matthew Mackey and Drummer Jordan Keating. Mackey's hard-hitting, technical bass lines command your attention and his energy spreads through the audience like a disease. His voice melds with Carlson's to form an almost heavenly vocal track. Keating's powerful drumming can not be missed. He barrels through each song with amazing precision and accuracy.
