Good Boy were an indie rock band from Brisbane, Australia, known for their authentic and unpretentious approach to music and their ability to capture the essence of young adult life in modern Australia. The band was formed by three childhood friends who grew up together in the regional Queensland town of Bundaberg, before relocating to Brisbane and deciding to form a band on a whim.

Their final lineup consisted of Tom Lindeman, Rian King, Stu McKenzie and Marli Smales, though they began as a three-piece before expanding to a quartet.

Good Boy describe their music as "Satanic indie folkcore", though their sound encompasses elements of punk, garage rock, and indie rock. Their music is characterized by driving guitar riffs, thumping percussion, and passionate vocals, with lyrics that frequently explore themes of love, loss, politics, and the challenges of daily life for young Australians.

Good Boy quickly gained recognition in the Australian music scene. Their breakthrough came with debut single "Transparency" which was added to high rotation on triple j in December 2015 and became the 15th most-played song on the youth broadcaster. In January 2016, the band was announced as winners of the triple j unearthed Laneway Festival competition, opening the Brisbane Laneway main stage.

Good Boy Released several EP's and one Album:
No Love For Back Home (EP, 2016) - Their debut EP that received critical acclaim
Plum (EP) - Their second EP featuring the popular single "Poverty Line"
It Takes A Lot of Skill To Milk A Mare (Album, 2020) - Their debut and final full-length album

Good Boy announced their breakup with the release of their debut album, stating "We've decided to call it a day. When we started Good Boy we wouldn't have fathomed the project making it this far". The band played their final show at The Triffid in Brisbane, marking the end of a career that spanned approximately five years and established them as one of Australia's promising indie rock acts.
