There are at least two artists with the name Sublingual

1. A Canadian ambient indie synthpop band (active from 1999 to 2001)
2. An American Rock group (active from 2004 to 2008)

1. Sublingual were a Toronto based band originally from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
Sublingual was formed in 1999 by Frank Erhardt and Matthew Fogel. Known to many from their rooftop band practices above Patrick Sheehans Pub in downtown St. Catharines, Sublingual played new wave influenced indie pop. Sublingual, began life as Souracid in 1992. Fueled by the Toronto/Hamilton punk scene that was then spilling over into Niagara, four young musicians (Matthew Fogel, Frank Erhardt, Quinn McColgan and Craig Collins) started Souracid. They practiced everyday after work in Matthew's parent’s garage covering the Sex Pistols in earnest. After a summer of rehearsals, they made their debut at St. Catharines' famous basement club, The Hideaway. With college and university starting, and two of the members heading to schools out of town, Souracid disbanded shortly after. The songwriting team behind that little punk band went on to work on the project Sublingual, the spiritual child of Souracid. Their music has been described as ambient influenced guitar rock! Past members included Frank Erhardt, Mike Curran and Matthew Fogel, Jeanette High, Jeffrey Rossetto, Stephen Butler, Bill Torrance, Dan Jamieson and Mike Stewart.

2. Sublingual (based in Broomfield, Colorado) is an original rock band with a smorgasbord of influences that is apparent in their songs. Think progressive grunge......progressive ideas that are well arranged and contained within song format. Each has very wide ranging tastes in listening and playing and all have roots playing heavy metal. They say honestly say, with joke intended, that they are a "rock, general" band. Feels and styles vary, but there is a strong rock backbone to everything they do. Curious technique and pop sensibilities are apparent in their songs and they strive to make a song what it should be.
