Die im Jahre 2006 gegründete Band aus Frankenthal spielt eine Mischung aus epischem Pagan und düsterem Black Metal. Angur setzen neben den für Metal typischen Instrumenten auch eine Drehleier und verschiedene Flöten ein, sodass dem Sound ein authentischer Folkeinschlag beigemischt wird.
2011 veröffentlichten Angur ihr erstes Studioalbum, das sich größtenteils mit dem Sagenkreis der Nibelungen auseinandersetzt und sich stilistisch - sowohl in textlicher als auch in instrumentaler Gestaltung - meist im Bereich der Epik bewegt.
