The Riverbreaks is an indie rock band based in Washington, D.C. After forming in 2009, the band released its debut album Get You Right on April 7, 2011.

The name The Riverbreaks comes from the band’s song Piedmont and serves as a metaphor for the genre breaking D.C. group. Like the music, the band’s songs and lyrics reflect journeys and geographies, resulting in a sound that is uniquely Southern, yet globally influenced.

Ryan Bailey (lead singer), Andrew Satten (keyboards), and Jesse Prentice-Dunn (guitar) met in Chapel Hill, NC where they formed a band awarded Favorite Local Act by the local newspaper. The band took a hiatus when Ryan moved for two years to the Central American jungle. After a period of prolific songwriting, the three launched The Riverbreaks in Washington D.C., integrating Neela Rajendra (violin), Kirk Anderson (drums), and Drew Ball (bass). Since their inception, the band has built a strong D.C. area fan base and toured eight states, as well as shared bills with bands like We Are Augustines, Pearl and the Beard, and Bobby Bare Jr. Look for their second album to be released in early 2012.
