Longwinded were born in Bergamo in september 1998. During the years there have been various changes in the line-up and in the style of composition. The first demo-tape, with the initial line-up, was recorded in May 1999 at the "New Motor Inside" of Colzate (BG): self-produced and self-distributed, it was sent to the main indie labels of the north and center of Italy. It was made up of 12 songs that were inspired by the Californian melodic hardcore scene of the time. After a series of reviews on various fanzines and webzines ("Rock Sound " described them quite ready for Epitaph Records...), live concerts started various locations of north Italy. During the first months of 2001, the band decide to return to the studio and record their “real” first EP, "EUTERPE", which is then distributed in a three year deal with "Teenage Lobotomy Records", a division of "Fridge Rec." (Milan). Soon things change…..the band members and the label disagree……. In recent 2003, Longwinded suddenly don’t exist any more.
In March 2004 the band finds a new begining, finding the desire to continue with an important project: playing at the “Bös Festival” (in memory of the Bös, a great friend that unfortunately passed away in 1998). Longwinded now propose a very different kind of music, not the discounted punk rock, but a fusion between various musical styles that go from 70’s rock, to crossover, to Nu metal. The final result, recorded not long ago, underlines all the changes the band has undergone and the result is very much more mature. In 2004 and 2005 the band play many live gigs alongside Shandon, Punkreas and Friday Star. They also make the finals of “Emergenza” and play 2 gigs in Milan’s Rolling Stone in June 2005. The band has now signed an 8 month contract of promotion with the English label "Chromium Records" for publication and sale of two singles on the English and American market.
