Aphotic Spectre emerged in mid-May 2020, in order to produce a more dramatic type of Funeral Doom Metal, including passages and constructions that refer to Atmospheric Black Metal and Post-Metal, with an emphasis on melodies, ambiance and clean vocals.

Aphotic Spectre seeks to represent the colossal horrors of the subconscious, the unknown watching us, creation and destruction as different sides of the same coin, the insignificance of existence in the face of cosmic indifference and the merciless march of time.

Eschatological cults, schizophrenic visions of spiritual prophecies, veneration of cyclopean entities and cosmic horror haunt the band's lyrical universe, whose most direct influences are HP Lovecraft, Zdzisław Beksiński, Moacir Soares de Faria, Clive Barker, Miura Kentaro, HR Giger, Mariusz Lewandowski, Miyazaki Hidetaka and John Kenn Mortensen.
