There are at least two bands with this name:
1. C.T.C. (Controlul Tehnic De Calitate) a.k.a. VD, L Doc, Deliric 1 and DJ Paul:
Band members have known each other since 1997.
They were previously members of other bands (Armada, E.L.I.T.A.), and in 1999 they decided to begin an alternative new project, for which they made a demo which spread throughout the hip-hop commmunity. Their demo was heard also by some of the time's well-known MC's; that's how C.T.C. members became guest MC's for some collabo's on several LP's and compilations (R.A.C.L.A. - "Plus Infinit", K-Gula -"Visuri In Intuneric", Da Hood Justice - "Nascuti Pentru Asta" etc).
VD and DJ Paul created and launched Facem Records, label under which several mixtapes are born, also Raku's debut album - "In Mediu Vitreg" and the C.T.C. & Cedry2k E.P.
In 2002 the "Reanimation 101" concert was organized by CTC, and it was hailed as an event which marked the resurrection of underground Romanian hip-hop.
In 2003 C.T.C. begins a collaboration with an independent label for "Proiectul Verde" (The Green Project) Compilation; and as a result, a single and a video are released.
After a collaboration for another compilation ("Afront") with another independent label, C.T.C. is offered a contract by the Roton's underground label (R.U.L.).
In August 2005 "Dificultati Tehnice" LP sees the daylight, supported by the video for "Orice", the first single released, in collabo with Yolo from Zale and Nwanda.
Since 21st August 2005, C.T.C. became the first Romanian band which has it's own whole car. Big ups and peace goes out to ERPS and RTMO. Some pics: ctcwholecar1, ctcwholecar2, ctcwholecar3.
At the present time, CTC has over 100 collaboration's with several artists (among them Zale, on "Chei Verbale", Bitza, on "Sinuciderea Unui Inger", Cedry2k on his future album etc) and the guys are working on their second LP.
2. CTC (Washington based)
Not many bands can get away with writing a song called "Rock and Roll Revolution," but with CTC — get ready to join the movement.
CTC is comprised of "Judith Bad" and Mario "Guitario" Sandoval — bothon vocals and guitar — Tony Nearman on bass, and Cale Miller on drums. Together they play tight-and-messy rock anthems in the making that sound bigger than the band.
CTC's ferocious live shows are fun, rough and exhilarating. The band brings the same level of barely contained chaos whether they're playing a house party or the Black Cat.
The band's sound is unfiltered rock tinged by a wide variety of influences, including such artists as Nirvana, Local H, Morphine, Sleater-Kinney, AC/DC, the Pixies, Fugazi, the Band, Joan Jett, Soundgarden, Danzig, Clutch, and the Smashing Pumpkins.
CTC's first release, a six-song EP called "Pulling Too Much Amperage" was unleashed during winter 2005, and the band is currently recording a full-length album tentatively slated to debut this summer.
In the meantime, CTC is continuing to bring the rock at venues all over the area and is also working on incorporating bass into their live shows.
Although Mario and Cale knew each other from high school, the roots of CTC were first planted in Montgomery County, Md., during fall 2004.
The lineup was soon cemented with the addition of Judy, who Cale had met at the Omega Studios School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences. Tony, the latest member, added the low-end to the act in spring of 2007.
CTC manages to be passionate about their music without taking themselves too seriously, and their energy is infectious. They're just four people who live to play and clearly love what they're doing.
"People aren't pumped enough about the scene anymore. That has to change. People aren't blown away, and we're the band to do it," said Judy. "We fight like a family, we piss each other off like a family, we love like a family, and we talk shit like a family."
